“Through EWI, the average three or four bedroom house in Suffolk and Norfolk can reduce its CO2 emissions by up to 9 tonnes per annum. This can lead to a saving of anywhere between £400 and £1,200 every year.

“With the grants available to us, owners of a three bedroom detached property with electric heating could receive as much as £3,500 towards the cost of the project.”

External wall insulation can also create a healthier living environment, as it minimises the risk of condensation and mould which can lead to unpleasant conditions like asthma and chest infections.

Paul explained: “The specialist render we use at EWS Residential is vapour permeable. This means that the moisture produced inside the home – from cooking, showering, watering the plants or even breathing – can travel outside instead of lingering inside. This substantially reduces mould and condensation forming on the internal walls which, in turn, makes the home a much more pleasant environment to live in.”
